Our nation's system of caring for those who have protected our freedom isn't perfect, and too many veterans have slipped through the cracks. Service members often return home with severe physical and emotional disabilities. Whether their scars are visible or not, many feel like they don't fit in...and, worse yet, that nobody cares. Some will fall on hard times and for different reasons, become homeless. Unfortunately, very few are able to find the help they need.
The Veterans Assistance Foundation, Inc. (VAF) based in Tomah, WI is here to offer that help. Founded in 1994, our mission is to identify and address the issues faced by veterans and low income persons who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in our communities. We provide transitional housing, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention services and access to benefit services for veterans and their families in the state of Wisconsin.
You can say, "Thank you for your service" by supporting the veterans of VAF through your tax-deductible donations. VAF operates programs that help veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless to find their way back by providing a safe and secure environment and a means of access to a wide variety of human services. Our programs focus on giving veterans the support, services, and tools they need to become active participants in their communities again. We help veterans find meaningful employment as well as safe, decent, sanitary housing. We're in this for the long-haul; our programs work with veterans to help them make lasting life changes.
